High Efficiency Capillary GC columns
The High Efficiency columns are ideal for fast chromatography where speed, while maintaining resolution, is the most important attribute of the columns. The columns can be applied to any applications that required reduced analysis time, such as high throughput screening, fast process monitoring, fast QC analyses, and fast method development. The columns are suitable for a wide variety of sample matrices, including environmental, petrochemical, flavor/fragrance, clinical toxicology, or pharmaceutical samples.

Flexible choice of carrier gas
The High Efficiency columns are operable with helium or hydrogen carrier gas. Although the optimum velocity for hydrogen is 1.5-2 times higher compared to helium which warrants even faster analysis, safety concerns do exist and must be addressed. The High Efficiency columns provide the option to stay with a helium carrier rather than switching to a hydrogen carrier, as often required for 0.1 mm or smaller ID columns. Furthermore, staying with the same carrier gas helps simplify the method translation process.
Reduced cost per analysis
Smaller ID columns require less carrier flow to achieve separations. Therefore less carrier gas is needed and in turn lengthen the intervals between gas cylinder changes and provide more precious up-time and less cost per sample.
Suitable for all detectors
The High Efficiency columns can be used for all types of detectors.

With the help of Agilent’s Method Translation software, you can easily and reliably translate your current methods to the new 0.18 mm ID dimension while maintaining the same elution orders, eliminating time consuming method development.
